Manulife’s Extended Health Care (enhanced) option allows you to top up the basic/core health benefits provided with the base health insurance plans. (see the base drug, dental, or drug and dental plans for details about included base health coverage).

Coverage includes:

• Lifetime maximum of $350,000 (increased from $250,000)
• Chiropractor, chiropodist, osteopath, naturopath, podiatrist, registered massage therapist, acupuncturist and physiotherapist; combined maximum of $750 per anniversary year. Includes chiropractic X-rays. Payable only after gov’t health insurance plan maximums have been reached.
• Psychologist, $80 first visit, $65 max subsequent visits, max 12 visits per anniversary year.
• Speech pathologist/therapist, $65 max first visit and $45 max subsequent visits, max 12 visits per anniversary year (max 20 visits for over age 65).
• Homecare and nursing, prosthetic appliances, durable medical equipment, combine max of $8500 per year.
• Hearing aid max of $600 per person per 5 consecutive benefit years. ($700 per 5 years for over age 65).
